Pebble finish
A premium gunite interior finish of small pebbles in cement that lasts about 15–25 years — more durable and textured than plain plaster.
A pebble finish (such as Pebble Tec) blends small natural pebbles into the cement coating, creating a mottled, textured surface that resists staining and etching far better than plaster. It's a mid-to-upper tier finish in cost.
Expect roughly 15–25 years of life — well beyond plaster's 7–15 — which often justifies the higher upfront price over the pool's lifetime. The surface is slightly rougher underfoot, a trade some swimmers notice.
