Using this site means you accept these terms. They exist mostly to say one thing clearly: our numbers are honest, transparent planning estimates — they are not quotes, bids, engineering, or professional advice.
Estimates are ballparks, not quotes
Every calculator, state page, report, and guide on this site produces or discusses pre-qualification cost ranges built from public data, pricing surveys, and documented assumptions (see the methodology). Real projects vary with site conditions a model can't see. Always get multiple written quotes from licensed local contractors before committing money, and rely on a professional's measurements — not ours — for any purchase, permit, or construction decision. We accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of these estimates.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep data current (each page shows its “last updated” date) but make no warranty that any figure, page, or tool is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose, and we may change or remove features at any time.
Reusing our content and data
- Report datasets and the embeddable Cost Atlas are free to reuse under CC BY 4.0 — keep an attribution link to Ballpark Lab.
- Articles, guides, and the calculators are © Ballpark Lab. Quote briefly with a link; don't republish wholesale or scrape the site.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse the site: no attempts to disrupt it, probe it for vulnerabilities outside a responsible disclosure, bulk-scrape it, request premium links for addresses you have no connection to, or use it for anything unlawful.
Advertising
The site is supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Ads are labeled and separated from content; we don't write content to please advertisers, and advertisers don't see your personal data from us. See the privacy policy for the cookie details.
