Post spacing
The on-center distance between fence posts, which sets how many posts a run needs — about 8 ft for wood, 6 ft for vinyl and aluminum, and up to 10 ft for chain-link.
Tighter spacing means more posts, more concrete, and more labor per foot. Corners and gates always add a post regardless of spacing.
